Penerapan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) Berbasis Web dalam Optimalisasi Pengelolaan dan Promosi Pariwisata di Padang Lawas Utara

Abstract

Tourism-object information management at the Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) of Padang Lawas Utara Regency has still relied on conventional, non-integrated recording, causing untidy data, delayed information updates, difficulty in searching for data, and the absence of interactive location visualization. This study aims to design and build a web-based information system equipped with a Geographic Information System (GIS) feature for mapping tourism objects in Padang Lawas Utara Regency. Data were collected through direct observation and interviews at Disbudpar Paluta and through literature study. The system was developed using the Laravel framework with a MySQL database and modeled with Unified Modeling Language (UML), covering use case, activity, sequence, and class diagrams. The system involves two main actors, admin and visitor, and displays tourism-object data completed with latitude and longitude coordinates that are visualized on an interactive digital map integrated with Google Maps. The resulting system enables centralized data management, faster information updates, and easier public access to tourism location information, and is expected to support Disbudpar Paluta in managing and promoting tourism destinations.
