Identifikasi Pariwisata di Kecamatan Medan Polonia Kota Medan dan Usulan Pengembangannya dalam Lingkup Arsitektur

Abstract

Tourism is considered a crucial sector in a country's development because of its contribution to regional income, job creation and poverty alleviation. Sustainable and community-based tourism development can support Regional Original Income (PAD) while protecting culture and the environment. The city of Medan, with its natural limitations, has tourism potential that can be improved, especially in the hospitality, culinary, recreation, entertainment and heritage sectors. The development focus is directed at the Medan Polonia sub-district to maximize its attractive tourism potential. Special attention is given to Taman Beringin in Medan City, an open park with a concept that attracts visitors. However, some park facilities are poorly maintained, and the improper arrangement of vegetation results in the appearance of the outside of the park tending to be dark. The development plan involves rearranging the site's zoning hierarchy, renovating park area boundaries, building pedestrian/open space, street food areas, and supporting facilities such as gazebos/pargolas. The implementation of this plan is expected to increase the attractiveness and quality of Beringin Park, create a positive experience for visitors, and contribute to the overall tourism development of Medan City.
