Sosialisasi Wisata Mangrove di Desa Pasar Rawa Kecamatan Gebang Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

Langkat Regency has tourism potential, and one of the attractions that can be developed is the mangrove forest in Pasar Rawa Village, Gebang Subdistrict. However, mangrove tourism in the village is not yet widely known, and community understanding of the role and function of mangroves as a tourist attraction remains limited. This community service activity aimed to increase community knowledge of the role and function of mangroves as a tourist attraction and of village tourism promotion strategies. The activity was carried out on 2 August 2023 through socialization using lectures and discussions, and community understanding was evaluated using a comprehension questionnaire. Twenty-eight residents attended, equal to 93% of the target of 30 participants. The questionnaire results showed that the level of understanding of village tourism promotion strategies was very good, and participants showed high enthusiasm. The activity improved community understanding of the role and function of the mangrove forest as an attractive tourism object and of the coastal potential that can be developed as a source of tourism attractions. The high level of community enthusiasm became the benchmark of the success of this activity.
