Pendampingan Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan Data UPPKB pada BPTD Kelas II Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Community service (pengabdian) activities were carried out at the Balai Pengelola Transportasi Darat (BPTD) Kelas II Sumatera Utara, specifically at the Section of Road, River, Lake, and Ferry Infrastructure, to address the management of Motor Vehicle Weighing Service Unit (UPPKB) data. Prior to the activity, UPPKB data recording was still conducted manually or semi-digitally using spreadsheets, which was prone to recording errors and data duplication, while data storage was not yet fully structured, making historical data retrieval slow. This service activity was carried out through assistance in designing a web-based information system, following the stages of the Waterfall method: requirement identification through observation and interviews, system and database design, coding, and testing. The resulting system, named SILotap, provides features for structured data entry, data search by month and year, report export to Excel and PDF, an administrator dashboard, and a user activity log. The system is intended to help the partner record, store, search, process, and report UPPKB data in a more structured manner. Further development, such as automatic reporting notifications and integration with other systems, is proposed as follow-up
