Perancangan Sistem Pendataan Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas Berbasis Website dengan Integrasi Lokasi Geografis (GIS): Studi Kasus Polres Binjai

Traffic accident data collection at the Binjai Resort Police (Polres Binjai) is still carried out manually, which causes delays in reporting, recording errors, and difficulty in accurately mapping accident locations. This study aims to design a website-based traffic accident data collection system integrated with a Geographic Information System (GIS) to address these problems. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using PHP with the Laravel framework, a MySQL database, and integration with the Google Maps API and Leaflet.js for spatial visualization. The results show that the system centralizes data input, report management, and validation of accident data in a single platform, and automatically displays accident locations on a digital map. The system also makes it easier to identify accident-prone areas (blackspots), supporting prevention efforts by the police. It is concluded that GIS integration in the accident data collection system improves the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of officers’ work compared to the manual process.
