Kekontemporeran Arsitektur Tradisional Sunda, Studi Kasus: Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park

Abstract

Globalization, a word that has transformed nearly every aspect of life across the globe, including architecture in Indonesia. This post-World War II phenomenon replaced traditional Indonesian architecture with a new style known as the International Style. Today, however, traditional architecture has resurfaced—retaining similar forms but with different backgrounds and functions. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the background behind the use of traditional building forms and to determine the extent to which the traditional values inherently bound to such structures are applied. The study selected 'Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park' as a case study, which incorporates traditional Sundanese forms in its design. A qualitative research method was employed, using field observations and literature reviews for data collection. The collected data were then analyzed using the theoretical framework The End of Tradition by Nezar AlSayyad. The results of the study indicate that Dusun Bambu represents a contemporary form of traditional Sundanese architecture.
